Obituary for Stanley Anthony Suchowesky

Stanley Anthony Suchowesky –a longtime resident of Lake, passed away at the age of 76 on Friday, October 8, 2021, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Stanley was born to parents Anthony and Anna (Decowski) Suchowesky in St. Johns, MI on February 23, 1945. He joined the U.S. Army after graduating high school and served honorably as an armament Technician in the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. Stan married Janice Louise Smit in Harrison, MI on June 18, 2003. He worked as an auto mechanic most of his life, then for Evart Products for 14 years until his retirement. He was always listening to the radio, usually 97.7, while tinkering around on someone’s vehicle. He made sure to take things slow and do them right the first time and was never in a rush.
Stan is survived by his wife of 18 years, Janice Suchowesky, his stepdaughters, Angela Post and her significant other, Gordon Abendroth, Jr., of Carson City, MI, Rachele Cronin and her husband, Josh, of Richland, MI, a grandson, Mitchell Post, a sister, Pat Rewerts, and numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Anna, sisters; Mary Ann Fero, baby sister, Stella, Francis Stehlik, Ann Drumheller, and two twin brothers, John and Bill Suchowesky.
A funeral service will be held at the Campbell Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Dr. Ray Francis presiding. Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service at 3;00, with military honors following the service at the funeral home. Stan will be laid to rest at the Mt. Rest Cemetery in St. Johns, MI. Memorial Considerations may be made to Mid-Michigan Hospice. Donation envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
