Obituary for Richard Duane Cook

Richard Duane “Dick” Cook – Age 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in Clare, MI, surrounded by his family. Dick was born to parents Milo Sr., an orphan, and Bertha (Prible) Cook, a 1st generation American from Czech immigrants, in Lansing, MI on April 25, 1931. He was 1 of 6 children. Dick grew up in Lansing and graduated from Eastern High School, class of 1949, after which he served honorably in the Michigan National Guard, Camp Grayling. After his honorable discharge, he began his chosen career as a printer and typesetter. He worked for Wellman Press and Speaker, Hines and Thomas until his retirement. In his free time, Dick enjoyed home improvement projects, woodworking, and was an avid artist. He painted with oils and acrylics, mostly nature scenes. He loved fishing, gardening, and will be remembered for always having a great sense of humor.
Dick is survived by his children, Bob (Cheryl), Richard “Rick” (Sheila), Jill (Rob), Michelle (Jeremy) Grand Children; John, Marisa and Justin. Sisters ; Betty and Joyce
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet of 15 years (Divorced), his second wife Oleta of 46 years. Grand daughter Jennifer. Brothers; Harry and Milo and Sister Mildred
