Richard Duane Cook
Richard, age 90 passed peacefully on Tuesday February 1, 2022 in Clare Mi, Surrounded by family.
Dick was born to Milo Sr. and Bertha (Prible) Cook 4/25/1931. He was 1 of 6 children.
Dick grew up in the Lansing, Mi area and graduated from Eastern H.S. class of 1949, after which he proudly served in the National Guard, Camp Grayling. After receiving an honorable discharge, he began his chosen career as a printer and typesetter. He worked for Wellman Press and Speaker Hines and Thomas.
During his free time, he enjoyed home improvement projects, woodworking, and was an avid artist, painting mostly nature scenes using oils and acrylics. He loved fishing, gardening and will be remembered for always having a great sense of humor.
Mr. Cook was Married twice, first wife Janet. They had 3 children Rick, Bob and Jill. He remarried Oleta and they had 1 child Michelle. Oleta from previous marriage had 10 children: Sue, Rena, Nona, Erma, Agnes, Vern, Joe, David, Harry, and Ron.
Mr. Cook was predeceased by wife Oleta of 46 years, Step Children: Nona, Sue, Vern, and David. His parents, and Siblings: Harry, Mildred (Millie), and Milo Jr. Granddaughter: Jennifer (Jill’s), Grandson’s: Jason, Sam, Adam and Bradley.
Survived by Children: Bob (Cheryl, Grandson: John), Richard “Rick” (Sheila), Jill (Rob), Michelle (Jeremy, Grand Children: Justin and Marisa). Step Children: Rena, Erma (Harry, Grand Daughter: Samantha), Agnes (Grandsons: Joshua and Richard), Ron (Grandchildren: Brent, Brandon, Travis, and Brandy), Harry (Char, Grandchildren: Scott and Tina), and Joe. Sisters: Betty and Joyce.
He is also survived by grandchildren: Ben, Tim, Joe (Vern’s children), Bob, Mike and Tracy (Sue’s Children), Jeremy, Jamie and Lucas (David’s Children) and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
He will be missed by all.
