Obituary for Kurt Douglas Clark

Beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, big brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, and loyal friend, Kurt D. Clark of Farwell, age 54, passed away on November 9th, 2021, after a short and unexpected illness with his wife, children, and siblings by his side. He was born to R. Robert Clark and Rebecca L. Nicol on May 8, 1967, in Cadillac, MI. Kurt was the oldest of four children. He was the oldest Clark of his generation and put up with a lot of teasing from his girl cousins for many years. Rebecca Andersen Clark was the love of his life and he married her on March 16th, 2005.
Family was important to Kurt. He dedicated many years of his life caring for his mother and stepfather. When Kurt met Rebecca, it was love at first sight. They spent many years traveling together on his motorcycle, with their most cherished trip being riding to Arizona and back. Kurt was Rebecca’s biggest fan and was at each and every marathon finish line. He dedicated his life to making sure Rebecca had a beautiful home and a secure future. Being a dad and then a grandpa was his most cherished title. He was never happier than when he was with his children and grandchildren. He was also a loyal and trusted lifelong friend to a few great guys from high school.
Kurt loved fast cars and motorcycles, having had many in his life. His uncle helped him get a 1967 Camaro before he had a driver’s license and he drove a 1967 Pontiac LeMans with a big block throughout high school. Many tires were put on that car! After graduating from Freeland High School in 1985, he purchased his first brand new Harley Davidson. Shortly after it was a ski boat, and he owned many minibikes, dirt bikes, cool cars, and motorcycles in his life. Amazingly, Kurt never had more than a seat belt ticket! He loved classic rock music throughout his entire life and was the #1 KISS fan at the age of 10, spending many hours in his bedroom with his pesky little sister listening to albums as loud as mom would allow.
Kurt received his college degree in Business Management, was a certified industrial welder, and a certified health unit coordinator. He worked for Sexton Disposal for many years, as well as Bay Medical Hospital. In recent years he spent his spare time remodeling their home and continuing to tinker around with cars.
Kurt will be dearly missed by his wife, Rebecca Andersen Clark and special dog and companion Kendall, his daughter and son in law, Ashley & Nick Brayman, son Joseph Clark, and daughter Emily Clark, grandchildren Spencer and Parker, father and stepmother, R. Robert and Cindy Clark, sister and brother in law Laura and David Sisco, sister Cheri Clark, and brother Tyler Clark, mother and father in law, Ronald and Delores Andersen, sister and brother in laws, Christina and Andy Sinelli, Rachel and Doug Parker, Craig Andersen and Clint Andersen, very special nieces and nephews, Leah, Levi, Kirsten, Kylee, Andersen, Dylan, Eden, Kensey, and Karsen. He was predeceased by his mother and stepfather, Rebecca and Raymond Nicol, his grandparents Joseph and Freida Clark, Dorr and Amanda Knudson, and Jack and Martha Painter, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
