Edward Leroy Hubel – Age 81 of the Village of Brinton, Coldwater Twp., passed away at his home on Friday, November 5, 2021. Edward was born on May 30, 1940, in Flint, MI, to parents Cecil and Grace Mae (Arnott) Hubel. Edward married Carol Jean Scott on February 7, 1965, at the Lake George Community Church. Edward was an avid gun collector, and was known for building the “Hubel Express” Wildcat cartridges. He enjoyed tractor pulling and sawmill operations. He was also known for his special car that was two Town Cars put together and was referred to fondly as his “Mother-in-Law” car. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carol Jean, his children; (John) Jonathan Edward (Marie), of Lake, (Shelly) Michelle Ann Steinert (Doug Robinson) of St. Louis, (Missy) Melissa Lynn Hubel (Monty Carty) of Jacksonville, FL, (Stephy) Stephanie Marie Adams (Mark) of Lk. George, 6 grandchildren; (CJ) Clinton James Steinert, (Tony) Anthony Mark, (Tommy) Thomas Edward, and Betty Jean Zelinski , (Kayla) Mikayla Marie, and (John) Jonathan Thomas Hubel and numerous great grandchildren, as well as a brother, Orvalle Lee Hubel (Margret) of Clare. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Grace, stepmother Alice and a sister, (Betty) Elizabeth Ann Green. A visitation will be held at the Campbell Stocking Funeral Home in Farwell on Thursday, November 18th, 2021, from 4-8 PM, and a service Friday, November 19th, 2021, at 1 PM. Pastor Doyle Ross will officiate. Edward will be laid to rest in the North Brinton Cemetery in Lake, MI.
