Richardson, Douglas E., age 72 formerly of Lake, MI passed away Thursday 11-25-21 at the Receiving Hospital in Detroit, MI. Born 7-24-49 and graduated in 1967 from Springport. After graduation, Doug served in the Army in Vietnam. He was a Service Manager at the Pontiac Dealership in Charlotte, worked at Boshears Ford in Marshall and Tri-Port Ind. in Springport. All who knew Doug would tell you that he was a prevailer and a worker. Doug and family/friends were always working on projects from building houses, rebuilding cars, cutting wood, cutting deer or various other repair jobs. Doug also loved trips to Nascar Races, Florida and to the U.P. to explore and relax. He was preceded in death by his Father Floyd (Richie) Richardson, Mother Juanita Richardson, and daughter Jolie Petrak. Surviving him are his wife of 40 years, Janet M. Richardson, brother Dean Richardson, sister-in-law Lou Ann (England) Richardson son John B. Petrak, daughter-in-law Scarlet A. DeWaters, son James Petrak, daughter-in-law Vickie Patterson, nephews Jeremy Richardson, Howie Day, Brandon Day, niece Angela (Troy) Anderson. Grandchildren Jessie Petrak, Chelsea (Stephen) Rainey, Sara Hall and Gary DeWaters. Great grandchildren Kendall, Blaine, Alex, Maxton, and Zane. There will be a Memorial luncheon at the VFW in Springport Sunday December 19, 2021, at 1pm. A graveside service is planned for May of 2022. Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell Stocking Funeral Home, Farwell, MI.
