Obituary for Bernard Earl Gossett

Bernard Earl Gossett – age 95 of Lake, passed away surrounded by family on Thursday, July 14, 2022. He was born on August 25, 1926 the son of Harold Berkley and Ruby (Daniels) Gossett in Charleston, West Virginia. Bernard served in the United States Army Air Force during WWII. He married Mabel Irene Plavsic on August 27th, 1949 in Hazel Park, MI, and to that union they were blessed with 4 children. They have been area residents since 1965 and owned M&B Groceries & Gas Station in Lake. Bernard enjoyed hunting, bow hunting, fishing, mini-bike riding and playing country music and musical instruments: banjo, mandolin, guitar, and fiddle.
Surviving to cherish his memories are a daughter Judy and husband James (‘Wes”) Morgan of Lake George; 3 sons; Bernie Gossett of Clare; Milan and wife Laura Gossett of Farwell; John Gossett of Lake Station; 4 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruby, wife Mabel, 2 sisters, granddaughter Amy Gossett and 2 great grandsons.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Bernard’s life will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 11 AM to 1 PM at Campbell Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with burial in Garfield Township Cemetery.
